The Covering Letter
Some employers won´t read your CV if your covering letter is weak. There are many types of good covering letter, many of them share the following characteristics:
Typed, on A4 paper
Brief: half a page of A4 if possible
One paragraph on why you meet the job criteria
Convey the message that you really want THAT job
They do not repeat what is in the CV
Focus on what the employer wants
Demonstrate briefly that you have done your research
Rather than sending the application to ´HR Department, XYZ Ltd´ try and find out the name and job title of the person to whom it should be addressed.
